Bass Page 2005

The salmon fishing was slow in August and it was too hot for the resi. trout,
but the Bass action was as hot as the weather!

Nice SmallmouthAnother nice one from late summer 2005!
Love it !!

Hard fights and lotsa jumps What fun!

I just love these Smallmouth bass. Pound for pound the hardest fighting fish around!!!

The hot weather took some toll on the bass too! I saw worms and parasites like these a lot this year, more than average I think. The bass seem to be OK so far.

Spey fly anyone? A little extra weight was needed to get the necessary vertical fall to hook the bass with any regularity. Still easier with the jigs, but a fun diversion with the fly rod during a hot spell that kept the salmon far from shore. Any day in the boat is a great day and all day bites cant help but make me smile.

Heathy Smally

Wow! What a healthy looking fish! Most were, indicating a heathy population.

Not on a fly, but worth showing off! 18" plus Smally! Beefy too, pushin' 4, I'd say!

BIG Smallmouth

One of the best this year! Click here for full size pic.
