Smashed the Dryfly

 Dry Fly Brook Trout!

Try to land (and pose) trout in the shallow water. Forceps mean the fish gets released untouched by my hand!

Caddis Bow

If I have to handle the fish, I try to keep them in the water. The hook can then be quickly removed while keeping the fish in the water and breathing!

   Brook Trout hits Caddis

Caddis Brookie

Landed posed and released in shallow water to aid the fish's recovery. No need for a dirty net or dirty hands !!!

Conservation organizations and  Stocking Programs continue to try to re-introduce the once native species. All Brookies Should be released immediately. Learn how to tell the difference! Know the Regulations. If you see someone poaching, report them to the local MNR.

If you see it, report it!!

Rainbow on nymph

Caught on beadhead stonefly nymph late in the day The relaese was quick in the shallow water. Release for the future of the species!

Studies have shown that first year spawning fish give the BEST contibution to the natural gene pool of returning rainbow trout.

With a little luck and a lot of political pressure, conservation minded fishers can make a difference !!!

We can't keep harvesting Trout at the rate we currently are. Please do your part to conserve for the future of the fishery.

#1 Brook Trout Pic

Just count the different plant species on this moist rock....

I released all fish shown here and 100's more.

Dry fly Brookie

I've Caught and released some nice fish on flies.

Sweet Brookie! If you have to handle any SMALL trout, try not to grip it's entire body, wet hand or not. Try to unhook it in shallow water. Even an inch or 2 of water will cushion the fish if it flops around a bit.

DO NOT liftsizable trout by the lip. Support the weight of the fish with your other hand. They are not like Bass. They are much more delicate !

The best way is to release the fish UNTOUCHED whenever possible. Use barbless even when not required by law. Use your forceps to remove the hook while the fish is still in the water and it is still breathing !

Natural Beauty!

This is a great way to photogragh your fish. This fish was released in the water, breathing all the way!

The colours of these brookies takes me back to that warm sunny day. Sometimes I just look at my website and daydream about warmer days, especially during snowstorms.

Mother Nature is an endlessly complex system of amazing creatures.

Preserve what you can!

Always try to conserve. Take only pictures, try to leave only footprints!

Natural Beauty!

Hard to believe that these fish are INVISIBLE when they are in the water  !!

How could anybody harm a gorgeous creature like this.

In a world of ever increasing pollution and extinctions, a fish like this is sent by GOD to teach us about the beauty of the natural world. If I catch you killing one of these, you'll be speaking to the lord in person very soon after!

Healthy Rainbow Trout

Poor little guy. Not his fault he's not a Steelhead Yet.

All are part of Nature! Please be especially delicate with all Trout. Release them untouched whenever possible. Wet your hands before touching any fish, avoid netting and release imediately. The brookies are the last of the last in Southern Ontario. Once they're gone, it's all over.

Always conserve resources!

All Fish were released as gently as possible!
